Pauline Fisk

Sad to hear of the death of Pauline Fisk, whose book Behind Closed Doors in an English County Town I reviewed on the Sabrinaflu blog here last autumn, on 25th January after a short illness. I’m sorry, too, that I never had the chance to meet her, and don’t know her family, so can’t pass on my condolences. If any reader of this blog is able to, please do, if you feel it appropriate.

Musical Events – a change of venue

At this point I’d normally post a short article here pointing to a couple of other Shropshire events that have hit my radar and are happening in August. However, I’ve already posted it on the Sabrinaflu blog, which from now on will be my site of choice for news of musical events in Shropshire and beyond.

The Sabrinaflu blog is actually a semi-mirror of Felicity Burke’s Sabrinaflu site, which for years has been promoting folk music, dance and song events along the Severn and beyond. Not only do I have her blessing with the project, but she’ll also be taking a hand in its development.
